Our trip to England was organised by Mrs Thoreaux and Leriche. It was from the 8th to the 13th of November 2015. We took the coach to Caen, then we took the ferry to Portsmouth and finally we took the coach again from Portsmouth to Plymouth.

The first visit we did was a museum in the city of Plymouth of a boat named ''The Mayflower''. We expected to see the boat but… there was no ship there ! So we did a quick round in the museum.

Then we ate the packed meals provided by our families and we went to visit Geevor tin mine. The mine of Geevor was active from 1909 till 1991, period in the course of which were extracted about 50 000 tons of metals. We learned a lot about mines, how the miners worked, what was the evolution of miner's work and equipment. We also went to the first galeries of the mine, they were mined by pickaxes, not by machines, it was funny because the people who digged it were smaller than us, so the progress in the mine was difficult, fortunately they gave us helmets.

We visited Eden project, an ecological site. This visit was my favorite because we discovered different plants, I found it a very beautiful site. It's a huge garden with different biomes, a tropical one, an European one and four other biomes. In these biomes there are a lot of different flowers and trees varieties. In this theme park there is a big statue, this statue is composed of technology items that one person uses in a lifespan, this statue is 6 meters high.

And the shooting of my favourite James Bond was in one of the ''biomes'' as they call them.

After visiting Eden project we've visited the Plymouth's lighthouse and a Plymouth Gin distillery, this two visits taught us about the story of the city and how the city worked before the 20th century.

On Thursday we visited a museum in Exeter, The Royal Albert Museum,. It was a great activity because I saw a lot of things, different animals and rocks, old clothing, instruments and cultures. We visited Exeter freely all afternoon. We had a very good diner before taking the ferry, this diner was composed of a fish and chips, it was very nice.

The next day, in France we visited the Normandie American troops landing cemetery, it is very very huge with all its white tombs who represent American soldiers who gave their life for the French liberty. Then we ate in a cafeteria and we went on the road towards school.

It was an excellent trip, we saw lots of new things and places, met lots of new people. Our host family was very kind and friendly. The trip by bus and boat was a bit long but it's the only negative point.
